These earrings are made out of Gonçalo Alves, also known as tigerwood. Growing from Mexico to Brazil, this wood is commonly used for such carved objects as archery bows and knife handles. Its warm tones with black streaks give a great warmth. These earrings are shaped with a slight hourglass in its rectangle, and silver inlay is added to the wood. The earrings are finished with hand-forged sterling silver ear wires.
Dimensions of piece: 1/2” wide x 1” tall; 1 3/4” including ear wire
NOTE: My wood pieces are sealed with a jewelers' wax for protection and water resistance. However, the pendant is not waterproof, so showering or swimming while wearing the necklace is not recommended.
