This is a piece, sculpted in wax, then cast in sterling silver – in a flowy, abstract, open-worked shape. Its organic feel is inspired by twigs and roots. The medallion style of the pendant makes it very comfortable to wear, and the open design makes it lightweight for its size. The piece is cast in sterling silver using lost wax casting. This process means each cast piece is one-of-a-kind and cannot be repeated.
After casting, a (recycled metal) 14 karat gold ball is added for a mixed metal look; and the smooth dot of the gold adds some tactile interest as well. The finished pendant is paired with a sterling silver chain (with some gold-filled beads to compliment the pendant) and a hand-forged hook clasp.

All of my work is handmade, using recycled materials whenever possible, and incorporating/re-using gemstones and vintage pieces.
